Open studios: fresh videos for 2026
I love Open Studios.
The teamwork. The amazing artists. The generosity of being welcomed into a private home studio.
Each year, once artist registrations are confirmed, we short list artists for our annual video production. We look for studios in converted shearing sheds, fascinating places filled with creative ephemera, and artists with curious processes. Artists and creative spaces that will inspire art lovers to visit.
Nine artists in six studios feature in our 2026 videos. They are;
Sarana Haeta
Chester Nealie and Matt Almera
Heloise Roberts and Moira Fearby
Toni Salmon
Jacqui Brown
Wayne and Julie Smith
I briefed cinematographer Till Spielhoff and interviewed the artists. Short 7-second videos formed the basis of a Meta advertising campaign, to reach art lovers in Perth and the south west. Reels are distributed to sponsors and tourism stakeholders, to promote the event on their channels.
We engaged Liminal to create the animation at the end, bringing the forest and funghi branding to life. The animation was developed for a new Perth Airport digital billboard, and was also rolled out on social media.
It’s always a pleasure working on this element of the Open Studios marketing campaign. I hope you enjoy the 3-minute video below!
